Mun Nape Collective Agreement

“We are pleased to reach this interim agreement. Our negotiating team achieved the best possible result at the table; one that we think will be acceptable for membership. I would like to thank both teams for their hard work, determination and open communication throughout this process. Immediately after the budget was published, a special meeting of the Mune Pensions Committee was convened to begin discussion on postponement and study in preparation for a vote. In recent weeks, representatives of the Munfa executive, committee representatives and collaborators have met with CAUT pension experts, as well as representatives of CUPE, NAPE and MUNPA, to discuss the government`s requests. These discussions allowed us to conclude, in agreement and in solidarity with the other unions, a conclusion that was both reasonable for the entire university community and which kept the interests of our members first. In short, at the meeting of the Mune Committee on Pensions on 18 June 2015, we presented two resolutions, one which allowed the university to apply for a one-year reprieve and the other, which called the so-called “study” unnecessary. Both decisions (in appendix) were taken unanimously. The press release states that the preliminary agreement will be communicated to members at the current ratification meetings. JOHN`S, NL – Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) and Memorial University have reached an interim agreement for maintenance workers. LUMUN postdoctoral contract September 1, 2016 – August 31, 2020 According to MUN, the government has stated that it would be willing to give a one-year delay to the special payment, freeing MUN from the need to recover the $21 million from the administration budget if a “study” of the retirement plan is conducted. Implicitly, the government`s request for a study would be to reform pensions and adapt the mun pension plan to the reforms that have been undertaken for the PSPP and NLTAPP. In a NAPE press release, the union wrote that it should begin negotiations in the coming weeks. CONSIDERING that the Pensions Committee advised pension experts and carefully reviewed the advice received and the effects of the deferral, Campus Enforcement – Patrol – NAPE 7803 and 1804 April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2020 (including pay schedules) Custodial – NAPE 7804 and 1809 from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2020 (including wage balance)Interview – NAPE 7801 11. April 2016 to March 31, 2020 (including salary schedules) CONSIDERING that the plan for its expected commitments and at the Memorial University of the Association of Facultys of Newfoundland (MUNFA) 30.04.2019 – August 31, 202 0 Memorial University Lecturers Union (LUMUN) Course Instructor Convention September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2020, the Higher Education Pensions Committee (“Committee”) is aware of its fundamental fiduciary responsibility to the members of the plan and knows the budgetary situation in which the government finds itself, and why did we not approve the study? Our retirement plan is in better shape than the PSPP and NLTAPP. Here, too, it was agreed that the cancellation of these plans did not fit our plan. Overall, the proposed study of our plan appears to be a matter of policy, not financial necessity. If a study were to be conducted, it would not only be useless, but it could also cause our members to lose very competitive advantages. CONSIDERING that the tasks of the study are not yet known and that “our MUN maintenance members are an integral part of the university community – creating, building, repairing and maintaining.
